Clean Eating – Clean Eating

Clean eating is not a new term and has been a way of eating since man has roamed the earth.  The caveman ate clean in that everything that the caveman ate was comprised of a whole food.  To eat clean is to eat whole foods that are unrefined and unprocessed. 

Clean eating is similar to the Paleo way of eating in that it is comprised of foods that are hunter gatherer types of foods but clean eating is not as restrictive.  With clean eating you can eat beans, oatmeal, quinoa, barley, potatoes and so on… but the food has to be food that has not undergone any type of factory processing.

To eat clean is a lifestyle where you’ve chosen to eliminate all processed foods and extra additives from your way of eating.  This way of eating does eliminate sugar, white flour, artificial sweeteners, candies, store bought snacks like cookies, cakes and so on…

Believe it or not this way of eating is the absolute best thing you could ever do for your body.  Your energy level will be through the roof.  Say goodbye to the highs and lows that you’ve had as a result of sugar! 

Your taste buds do adjust to not having the foods you eat be so sweet and then when you do eat something that has sugar or artificial sweeteners it will be too sweet and not be so appealing anymore. 

The benefits of clean eating are so many that to list them all would take pages but here’s just a few to start.

  • Weight loss
  • Increased energy
  • Better sleep
  • Great skin
  • Shinier hair
  • Decreased risk of chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, cancer and so on…

With clean eating you don’t have to worry that you will not be able to still eat cookies, cakes, pancakes and so on because the recipes for clean eating include all of these and more and the recipes do not skimp on taste.  You will be surprised how much yummy food you will still get to eat and the recipes for these yummy foods are quicker to make than it is to go buy readymade junk food.

Also, this way of eating is easy on the wallet because you will no longer be buying all of the junk food.  The time that it takes you for your usual shopping trips will be cut in half because there is no need to shop every isle in the store.  For the most part the food that you will buy is mostly available around the perimeter of the isles.
